Meeting the moment where we are.

My background

My name is Priscilla and I live on the unceded land of the Multnomah, Clackamas, Kathlamet, and Chinook peoples (also referred to as Portland, Oregon). I obtained my Master of Social Work in 2016 from the University of Southern California. One could say that social work runs in my family (my adoptive father was also a social worker).

My values

I value decolonizing my own practice, responding to the calls for mutual aid in my community, and staying open to learning from other healers.

I also value advocacy and one way I practice this is by placing the role of expert in the hands of the client. My clinical perspective is that you have the wisdom, it may just be muddied or afraid to speak up. I see myself as a compassionate guide who can help build a safe space for your truest self to emerge, gain footing, and be in the world.

My approach

Some of the modalities that I draw from include EMDR, IFS, CBT, DBT, and ACT. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered. The journey to oneself and the ongoing work to meet each moment where it is can be frightening. I am here to remind you that you are not alone and that you have permission to feel.

I thought it might be helpful to share how I am trying to grow and what I am dreaming about.

Some projects that I am marinading on include: offering clinical supervision to pre-licensed folks and arranging social space for local parents who are also adoptees.

Some activities that make me feel alive and joyful include running, being in nature, and trying new foods.
